I was out of town for a few days... my best friend left the data cord to his camera at my house while he was here so I felt that I needed to take it back to him (his computer doesn't have a card reader on it so he really needed that cord back...). During my time away, I was going to stop at the Yarn Market in Pickerington, Ohio.
In fact, we had planned on going the day after I got there (I usually stay over a couple of days as it's a 200+ mile trip one way to where he's at). But.. the morning came and I felt like crud so we stayed in my room, watched TV and played on my laptop.
I'm so undecided about whether to get Denise interchangeables or go with Knit Picks Options. The one thing that I seriously like about the Options set is the pointiness of the needle tips. I guess it's sort of silly thinking about the amount of money that I'd be sinking into them as I've probably, over time, spent more than double that on other circs.
I haven't really been doing too much knitting lately... depression has been ruling me on and off so I've been spending a lot of time on the couch. I thought that maybe picking up my hooks might help bring me out of it (going back to working on squares for a blanket that I've been working off and on again for the past year...) but that didn't go very far.
Although, the past day or so, I picked my entrelac scarf back up and I've been working on the slouch hat (it's really coming along and the Addis [size 9] are really making it go fast...) so I'm not totally out of the game...
Possibly what's holding me back is that I really would like to see the 2 sets side by side so I can make an intelligent choice. I'm a very visual/textual type of person and I like to see things up close, touch, feel, look and then, make my choice. I've read threads on Craftster forums about both and this makes me even more unsure. I hate the circs that I presently have (minus the 4 sets of Addis that I got from Yarn Knit By Sue's shop).
The thing is that, I like the points on the Susan Bates Silvalume needles but the cords on the circs totally suck. They have excellent memory for the shape that they were in in the packaging but it's nearly impossible to straighten them out to the point where they're usable. I got tired of fighting with them for small projects and now, only use them when I absolutely have to.
